PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Duties / Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
Communicate with FAA, customer representatives, and company personnel to resolve compliance issues as required.
Compile drawings, manual excerpts, and other technical documents in response to FAA requests for information.
Facilitate interviews conducted with ATS personnel by the FAA.
Host the FAA during facility visits
Compile self-disclosure reports and written responses to FAA Letters of Investigation and Letters of Concern.
Initiate policy clarification requests to the FAA.
Provide notification to the FAA of repair station work done away from the ATS facility.
Assist in the conduct of internal investigations regarding potential noncompliances to Federal Aviation Regulations.
Facilitate with Quality Assurance written reports regarding investigation results, any immediate corrective actions taken, preventative action plans, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
Provide updates to the President and Vice President Operations (Accountable Manager), on the state of compliance issues.
Coordinate FAA approval of revisions to the ATS Training Manual, EASA Manual, Canadian Supplement, and Repair Station Operations Specification.
Coordinate FAA approval of ATS Repairman certificates.
Provide guidance to FAA and ATS personnel regarding requirements within Federal Aviation Regulations and related repair station and air carrier procedures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Some travel may be required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Good interpersonal skills and ability to be professional and ethical at all times.
Extensive knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (Part 145, 121, 91, 65, and 43)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to understand complex operations from a broad perspective.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience as a FAA inspector or 10 years within an airline or repair station Quality organization. Experience should be within last twelve months.
FAA A&P Mechanics Certificate (preferred).

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Carry out primary responsibility in educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and provide employees with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected so as to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.
