Summary

Ensure timely completion of a quality product for an assigned function area. Be able to step in and fulfill Maintenance Supervisor responsibility for short periods of time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
Ensure all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.
Monitor and correct routine and non-routine labor hours prior to exceeding allotted estimated hours.
Conduct daily and impromptu crew meetings to ensure prompt communication of all significant information to maintenance crews.
Facilitate On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
Ensure timely completion of OJT paperwork per company requirements.
Provide regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments, and adherence to company policy to all members of assigned crew.
Develop technical and leadership skills of the mechanics.
Assist in researching all necessary parts needed for the job.
Review required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
Perform maintenance tasks as required and become an active member of the crew.
Communicate with Supervisor all information on assigned employees including disciplinary problems. Make recommendations for performance evaluations on assigned employees.
Complete all company required reading and update all training files.
Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY:
Direct and reassign Maintenance manpower in response to workload requirements. Qualify and evaluate employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
N/A

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that you are provided with full information on your area specific safety issues, all unique hazards are identified, and you are provided with the proper equipment to carry out your job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported to your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Good verbal and written communication.
Ability to read and interpret documents as well as communicate effectively with other maintenance and support personnel at all levels regarding job related issues.
Must have detailed knowledge of specialty area, paperwork and publications and an understanding of technical information in order to troubleshoot problems.
Must have broad overall knowledge of aircraft systems and major components.
Ability to calculate basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
Meet all regulatory requirements per FAR 65.
Ability to organize, reason and solve practical problems.
Guide and mentor assigned personnel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must hold an appropriate airmans certification in accordance with FAR 65 and must have had at least 24 months of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the area of responsibility.
Applicable Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant license.
ATS Leadership training as required by company policy.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up.
The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.

ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high.
May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
This position requires the use of a respirator.
